Fun fact about me. I love Valentine’s Day. Fun fact about Jared. He hates it! I think this is pretty typical in most relationships. Most of the time the girls are the hopeless romantics and the boys think it’s a holiday created so Hallmark can make money.
Last year, Jared was going to take me out for dinner on Valentine’s Day. His plan was to go to the Cheesecake Factory that just opened downtown and then walk around downtown. Buuut he didn’t make a reservation. The wait for Cheesecake Factory was 3 hours… we tried just about every other place downtown and 3 hours seemed to be the average. Let’s just say it was one for the books, and not in a good way.
So GUYS, rule number 1. ALWAYS MAKE A RESERVATION. Everyone and their mom is going to dinner on Valentine’s Day. Call or use an app like Open Table to make a reservation. Most places that don’t normally take reservations will on Valentine’s Day. You don’t want to start the night off with a 3 hours wait.
Rule number 2. DON’T SHOW UP EMPTY HANDED. A lot of girls say “I don’t like flowers”, but trust me they like flowers. If they really don’t like flowers, every girl likes chocolate or wine. You don’t want to show up empty handed after she just spent hours getting ready for your date.
Rule number 3. COMPLIMENT HER. She just spent hours getting ready for you. From tweezing her eye brows to painting her nails she worked hard for that compliment. So lavish her in compliments all night long (even though you should be complimenting her all day everyday).
